EV sales in 2018, Netherlands and Germany

In 2018, 24,024 fully electric cars were sold in the Netherlands. This number is three times as many as in 2017. Of all new cars registered, 5.4% of them were electric vehicles. Netherlands considered one of the highest market shares worldwide. In December, 30.4% of cars sold were fully electric cars.

Here follows the list with the best-selling electric cars in 2018:

There are now some 49,000 EVs in the Netherlands. Experts predict that EV 
sales will reach 28,000 in 2019.

Germany

In Germany, sales of fully electric cars grew by 43.9% in 2018 to 36,062 This was more than 1% of total new passenger car sales.

Diesel cars sales declined from 38.8% to 32.3%, the lowest since the year 2000. Petrol gas cars made up 62.4% of sales, compared to 57.7% in 2017. Total car sales declined slightly by 0.2% to 3.44 million.
